2010 Track & Field

This season the boys team was lead by senior Richie Flannery and sophomore Casey Voisin. Richie was named to the all conference team for winning the shot put and placing high in the discus. Casey was regional champion in both the 1600m and 3200m runs which qualified him for the state meet. Casey earned All-State honors with an 8th place finish in the 1600m at MHSAA State Finals on June 5th.
 
The girls team had a very strong season as a team finishing runner-up in both the conference and regional championships. Led by senior Bridget Bennett, Eight different girls on the team qualified for the state meet in 6 different events. Bridget was state champion in both the 1600m and 3200m and was part of the state runner-up 3200m Relay team. Bridget set new school records in the 1600m (5:06.09) and the 3200m (11:14.5). Katelyn Maylee was also part of the 3200m Relay team at the State Meet and earned All-State Honors individually in the 800m Run. Krista Holtgrieve and Kathleen Guytingco completed the team for the 3200m Relay that finished 2nd at the State Meet with a time of 10:11.3 earning All-State Honors. Tara Throop qualified for the High Jump at the State Meet on her way to a school record tying season best of 5’2”. Tara teamed up with Hannah Hovey, Maggie Oblinger, and Kaylee Fermoyle to finish 7th in the 400m Relay, earning All-State Honors with a season best time of 52.94. All 8 girls who competed at the State Meet were named to the All-State team.
