Welcome to
Sacred Heart Academy

Sacred Heart Academy has been providing the gift of Catholic education to children in grades kindergarten through twelfth in the Mount Pleasant area since 1889. The campus consists of an elementary building housing  kindergarten through sixth grade. Across a courtyard is the junior/senior high school, which houses grades 7 – 12. One of the vital components of our school is the active support received from the Sacred Heart Parish, which is located just a block east of the school campus. Students attend mass on a weekly basis and are provided many opportunities to deepen their faith through retreats, sacramental services, prayer sessions and daily religion classes.

Sacred Heart Academy maintains a steady enrollment of approximately 470 students, with an average of 18 students per classroom. SHA offers a unique environment in that all students in one family may attend school on the same campus. With the small campus and close proximity of the buildings, our students share gyms, the cafeteria and band room. The older students serve as excellent role models while assisting the younger students in various roles such as reading buddies and prayer partners. We boast a 100% graduation rate, with nearly 98% of our students continuing their education at the college level. Teachers and staff work very closely with students so that they may achieve academically and grow personally. Parental involvement is a key factor in the success of all of our students. At Sacred Heart Academy, we welcome students of all faith backgrounds.

Congratulations Students and Staff

Congratulations, Sacred Heart Academy students and staff for your academic excellence on the 2008 MEAP tests results. Of the twelve area schools from Gratiot and Isabella Counties who participated, SHA ranked highest in 24 of the 28 assessment areas and 2nd highest in the other four areas. The strong academic scores are a result of hard work by our students, unwavering dedication of our staff and steadfast support of our parents. We are pleased with our accomplishments and will continually work to drive our academic excellence to a higher  level.  To view the 2008 results click here.
