March 12, 2010
Dear Parents,
Today is the end of the third marking period. I let the students know, and made them write in their planner Monday, that all redos needed to be in by today in order to count for this marking period.
The students will begin division during Mad Minute on Monday. If they pass division, they can go back to the other operations they have not passed.
We enjoyed Brad’s POW presentation and week. We are looking forward to Grace’s next week.
I have thoroughly enjoyed the book report presentations! Their creativity never ceases to amaze me!
The students performed their ministries for the Children’s Mass beautifully! I am glad some of you were able to join us for the celebration.
I was disappointed in the results of the social studies’ test. We talked about the answers to the written response questions the day before the test. The scores on the language arts test were impressive! I passed out the questions, by mistake, the day before. When I realized my mistake, I gave them time to look them over. Most of them used the knowledge to their benefit.
Mrs. Wang began the Protecting You, Protecting Me program yesterday. There is a sheet in your child’s Friday folder explaining the program.
Also in the Friday folder is an explanation of the Wax Museum we will have in April. We will be modeling the museum for the children sometime soon. I am going to be St. Lucy for the demonstration.
Is anyone interested in being a guest reader in our classroom during March is Reading Month? If so, please contact me to set up a time or send a note with a couple of options that would work for you.
We have only one contribution of cans so far. Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Cappel!   The drive helps provide books for your children.
Monday morning add on:
If your child has a late slip in this week’s folder, the work will be due Friday, March 19. Any work not turned in by then will be given half credit. If the late work has appeared on a previous late slip, it will earn 0%.
I hope you had a wonderful weekend! God bless you, those you love, and those you don’t love so much.
Sincerely,

Jill LaChance
