Dear Parents,
For next Friday’s field trip to Lansing I need to send home a different permission slip. We’ve decided that if we get rained out when we get to the park, we will go visit the Michigan State University’s History Museum. We had to combine the two destinations on one permission slip. So, in this weeks Friday folder you will find a new permission slip to fill out, sorry. There is no charge for students to enter the park, but parents will need to pay $10.00 for the entrance fee. Students will need a sack lunch with a sealable drink and a morning snack. Since this is a Friday regular color day clothes apply. If your child needs to carry an Eppi-pen for allergies, please let me know ahead of time. The bus will leave sharply at 8:00 a.m. If you are driving separately and wish to take your child off the bus you must have permission from Mr. Starnes ahead of time due to insurance reasons.
Report cards will go home on Tuesday June 8th.
The time for special requests for next year has expired, so if you missed it let me know personally and I’ll see what I can do when I’m making out the class lists.
We will attend one more session at the Public Library on the 3rd of June. Any books checked out will become the parent’s responsibility to return to the library. Please check around for any library books at home or AR books. I might suggest that if there are any fines on your account to get it settled before next year so your child can check out books in class.
I doubt there will be a parent letter next week so I would like to express my thanks to everyone for their help this year. I have really enjoyed having your child in my class. We have met all of the State of Michigan’s benchmarks for third grade and beyond. During the summer please continue to require your child to read and practice their addition and multiplication facts. Fourth grade requires 40 mad-minute problems in 60 seconds at the start of the year, so practice, practice, practice.
I hope everyone has a restful and enjoyable summer vacation. I found a summer job and am really excited. I start June 10 golfing 18 holes everyday. Pray for me that I get my handicap down.
Thanks again for everything.
